FROZEN ICE CREAM DREAMS 
1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream, softened
1 (12 oz.) pkg. vanilla or chocolate wafers, crushed
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
3 eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter

Grease a 13x9 inch pan with butter.

Sprinkle 1/2 cookie crumbs over bottom (evenly). Combine butter and chocolate in top of double boiler. Heat until melted.

Beat in sugar. Add yolks, one at a time. Beat after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff. Stir in 1 spoonful at a time. Fold in remaining whites.

Pour mixture over cookie crumbs. Sprinkle with half the nuts. Freeze until firm. Spread with softened ice cream. Top with remaining crumbs and nuts. Freeze until firm. Cut into squares.
