GRANDMOTHER'S GINGERBREAD | |
1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs 3/4 c. molasses 2 3/4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. sour milk Blend sugar, shortening and eggs. Stir in molasses. Add combined dry ingredients alternately with milk; beat well. Spread in a well greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. bake at 350 degrees for 35 - 40 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream or applesauce. |
