BOERENMEISJES COCKTAIL 
This cocktail, being sweeter than the boerenjongens cocktail, is often served to the Dutch women while the men drink boerenjongens.

3/4 lb. dried apricots
2 c. water
Lemon peel
3 c. sugar
3 c. whiskey or brandy

Wash apricots and soak 24 hours with the lemon peel. Then cook about 20 minutes until done. Add sugar and brandy and stir until dissolved. Fill sterilized container with the mixture and seal tightly. Let stand at least 3 months for best results. Makes 2 quarts.
