MARINATED BEANS | |
1 lg. (12 oz.) can of Stokely's string beans, drained 1 sm. (8 oz.) can English peas (drained) 2 sm. onions, sliced in rings 2 stalks (stringed) celery (chopped per stalk) 1 sm. jar of pimiento (drained) 1/4 c. salad oil 1 c. vinegar, white 1 c. sugar 1 tbsp. water 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1 clove garlic Combine salad oil, vinegar, sugar, water, salt, pepper and garlic in broiler and bring to a boil stirring well. Set aside and cool. In layers place beans, English peas, onions, celery and pimento in tupperware. After liquid has cooled. Pour over beans, etc. Place lid on tightly. Refrigerate and keep at least three days before eating. The longer it sits the better it tastes. A couple of times each day, remove from refrigerator and turn up side down over the kitchen sink. That mixes everything beautifully. So good and tasty, goes well with everything. |
