ROBERTO'S SISTER-IN-LAW'S MEXICAN STUFFED SHELLS | |
16-20 jumbo pasta shells 1 lb. ground beef, brown and drain 1 (8 oz.) jar Picante sauce 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 c. water 1 c. shredded jack cheese 1 can Durkee's French fried onions Denise and Ramon served this for me. I had to control myself to keep more from looking like a pig. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook shells. Combine Picante, tomato sauce, and water. Stir 1/2 of this mixture into beef. Add 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 cup French fried onions to beef; mix well. Pour 1/4 cup of sauce into bottom of 13 x 9 baking dish. Stuff shells with beef mixture. Arrange shells in pan. Pour remaining sauce over shells. Bake covered 30 minutes. Top shells with remaining cheese and onions. Bake 5 more minutes. This goes great with a nice fresh salad. |
