BUTTERSCOTCH PIE 
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 2/3 c. milk
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, separated

Mix sugar, flour, salt in pan. Stir in milk, water and butter. Cook until thick. Beat egg yolks slightly. Mix half of butterscotch mixture into egg yolks and return to heat. Cook until thick. Add vanilla and cool slightly. Pour into pie crust. Serve with whipped cream or meringue.
