GEORGIA'S FRIED OKRA 
1 qt. fresh or frozen (thawed) okra
2 c. milk
2 c. cornmeal
2 tsp. pepper
2 c. salad oil
2 tsp. salt

Wash and slice okra 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Place okra in deep bowl and cover with milk. Let stand 30 minutes; drain. Pour cornmeal and pepper in bag. Add okra and shake until coated.

Heat oil in large frying pan; add okra to make a single layer. Turn only once during frying; do not stir. Remove okra when light brown; place on paper towel to drain; sprinkle with salt. You can put okra in a 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking dish and bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. 6-8 servings.
