OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter flavor Crisco
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. oatmeal, uncooked
Sugar, sm. amount in a bowl or cup

In mixing bowl, stir together first 5 ingredients, add Crisco, egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in oats. Form into small balls. Dip top into additional sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.
