HEART WARMING CHILI | |
2 cans black beans 2 cans field peas 2 cans lima beans 1-2 cans crushed tomatoes 2 cans tomato sauce 1 tsp. salt (opt.) 2 tbsp. red pepper 1 med. onion 2 tsp. oregano Dash Tabasco Chop onion and saute in liquid from one can of field peas. Drain all other cans of beans/peas. When onions clear, add beans, tomatoes and tomato sauce. Add salt (optional), red pepper, oregano and Tabasco. Simmer at least 20 to 30 minutes, up to 2 hours to blend flavors. Serve with chopped green onions as garnish, or small amount plain yogurt (instead of sour cream). |
