CABBAGE PATCH STEW WITH
DUMPLINGS
 
1 lb. hamburger
1 onion
1 1/2 c. cabbage
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 can (16 oz.) stewed tomatoes
1 can kidney beans
1 can water (or tomato juice)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. chili powder

FOR DUMPLINGS: Use Bisquick or:
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk

Brown hamburger, onion, cabbage, celery and onion until all vegetables are soft. Drain. Add other ingredients, simmer while making dumplings.

Spoon dumplings on top and cover. Simmer 10 minutes. Then uncover and simmer 10 minutes or until dumplings are done.
