CHERRY CHEESE BARS 
1 c. walnuts, divided
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter flavored Crisco
1/2 c. flaked coconut

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling

Grease 13 x 9 inch pan. Chop walnuts. Set 1/2 cup aside. Blend crust ingredients. Remove 1/2 cup and set aside. Press remaining crumbs in bottom of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over hot baked crust. Bake 10 minutes. Spread pie filling over cheese layer. Combine reserved nuts and crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over cherries. Bake 15 minutes longer. Cool. Cut into 24 bars.
