2 c. shortening or butter
1 c. white sugar
2 c. light brown sugar
3 eggs
3 c. oatmeal
1 can angel coconut
1 1/2 c. pecans
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda in 3 tbsp. water
20 orange slices

Cut oranges into small size pieces. Put orange pieces in small amount of flour. Cream sugar to shortening, add eggs, soda and orange slices, nuts and coconut, add flour sifted with baking powder. Add oatmeal. Chill several hours. Roll in wax paper after it is chilled. Slice and bake at 325 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

Makes between 18 to 20 cookies.
