NEVER FAIL PIE CRUST | |
4 c. unsifted all purpose flour, lightly spooned into cup 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 3/4 c. solid vegetable shortening (better if Crisco) 1 tbsp. white or cider vinegar 1 lg. egg 1/2 c. water Put flour, sugar and salt into large bowl and mix. Add shortening and mix with fork until crumbly. In small bowl, beat egg, water and vinegar. Combine mixtures with fork stirring until all ingredients are moistened. Chill and use. Divide dough into 4 or 5 pats and freeze. To use: thaw dough and roll out. |
