BOURBON BALLS | |
In the top of a double boiler over hot, but not boiling water, melt 1 (6 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate morsels (1 cup). Remove from water and stir in 1/2 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons light corn syrup. Blend in 1/3 cup bourbon. Combine 2 1/2 cups finely crushed vanilla wafers and 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped, and add the semi-sweet chocolate mixture, mixing well. Form in 1-inch balls, roll in sugar, and let ripen in covered container for at least several days. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen. |
