TEA CAKES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter (do not use butter)
2 eggs
2 tbsp. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour (all-purpose)
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, add sugar and cream until well blended. Beat eggs and add to mix. Sift dry ingredients in separate bowl. Add vanilla, mix all together, adding dry ingredients, a small amount each time to insure tenderness. Let stand in refrigerator 1 hour. Roll thin, cut and place on cookie sheet (greased). Cook at 400 degrees until slightly colored.
