PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL BARS 
Step 1:

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. peanut butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. quick rolled oats

Step 2:

2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1/4 c. cocoa powder
3 tbsp. melted butter
2 to 3 tbsp. boiling water
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Step 1: Cream together shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; blend until fluffy. Add egg and the 1/4 cup milk; beat well. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and add to creamed mixture. Beat just until well combined. Then stir in rolled oats. Spread evenly in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F then cool thoroughly.

Step 2: Sift together 2 cups confectioners sugar and add cocoa. Quickly stir in melted butter, boiling water and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spread evenly over cooled bars in pan.

Step 3:

2 tbsp. butter
1 c. confectioners sugar
3 to 4 tsp. milk

Heat and stir the 2 tablespoons butter until golden brown. Stir in the 1 cup confectioners sugar and the 3 to 4 teaspoons milk. Drizzle over frosting. Cut into bars.

May need a little more water or milk than stated.
