HONEY NUTLETS 
1 c. shortening
1 c. honey
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
4 c. flour - more nutritious with whole wheat
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt - less with butter
2 c. broken nutmeats - I use pecans

Melt shortening; add honey and sugar. Beat thoroughly. Add beaten egg, sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in nuts and drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 degrees approximately 15 minutes. Makes 48 cookies. Store in airtight container 10 days to ripen. Great for cake packages as they keep.
