AMISH SUGAR COOKIES 
Cream:

1 c. sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. cooking oil

Add:

2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla

Add:

4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Make into balls using 1 teaspoon at a time. Balls should be about the size of a walnut. In another small bowl mix 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of nutmeg. Roll each ball in sugar mixture and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Test bake one cookie - some ovens are hotter than others. Placing a raisin in the center is optional before baking (do not press down). The above is a double recipe. Refrigerate for 1 hour before baking.
