TOURTIERRE - FRENCH CANADIAN | |
Use a sm. broiler pan 1/2 lb. beef, cubed 1/2 lb. pork, cubed 1/2 lb. veal or lamb, cubed 3 potatoes, diced Salt, pepper & seasoning of your choice Mix all together. Make the never-fail pie crust. Place bottom crust in bottom of broiler pan. Place the ingredients into the crust and before sealing with top crust, fill the pan with water. Then place the top crust and seal and vent. Loosely cover the pan with foil. Bake for 1 hour at 450 degrees, then 4 hours at 350 degrees. After 2 1/2 hours of the baking time, remove foil, refill pan with water, replace foil. At the beginning of the last hour, remove foil to brown. |
