4 c. sliced apples, pared and cored
1/4 c. water
2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
Dash salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Grease large 9 inch pie pan. Add sliced apples and water. Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Cut shortening into the dry ingredients; add milk and combine well. Pat dough on top of apples. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30-45 minutes. Turn onto serving plate. Dot with butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in wedges and serve with cream.
