SUGARED - SPICED PECANS 
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. nuts, halves
1 tsp. cinnamon

Toast pecans 10 minutes at 300 degrees. Combine all ingredients except nuts and vanilla. Cook until syrup spins a small thread, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add nuts and vanilla. Stir quickly until sugar crystalizes. Pour onto buttered platter. Rapidly but gently separate nuts.
