BLACK DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. cooking (salad) oil
2 c. cold water

Measure into bowl without sifting flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa and salt. Make 3 holes in dry ingredients. In first hole put vinegar. In second hole put vanilla. In third hole put cooking oil. Over top pour cold water. Mix well with electric mixer (will be a thin batter). Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan.

Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool Whip is a good topping.
