SPICED WALNUTS | |
2 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper 1 can walnut halves (2 c.) Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a large bowl, combine sugar, soy sauce, oil, ginger, red pepper, salt, nutmeg, and black pepper. Stir in walnuts. Place on a 15 x 10 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake until glazed and crisp, about 20 minutes, turning walnuts after 10 minutes. Cool completely; store in a tightly covered container for up to 2 weeks.
