CHOC - OAT CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. Quaker oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked)
1 (12 oz.) pkg. (2 c.) Nestle's Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 c. nuts, coarsely chopped (optional)

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets. Remove to wire rack. Cool completely.
