1 (16 oz.) pkg. Oreo cookies
1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
1 lg. can hot fudge sauce
1 can peanuts
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip

Crush Oreos, mix with butter. Save 1 cup Oreos for topping, press rest of crumbs in bottom of a 9x13 pan. Spread over the crushed cookie crust the softened ice cream, hot fudge sauce, nuts and top with Cool Whip. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Top with cherries if desired. Keep in freezer. Also delicious with coffee ice cream.
