SWEDISH APPLE PIE WITH CINNAMON CREAM SAUCE | |
3-4 med. apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 c. melted butter 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. nuts 1 c. flour 1 egg Pinch of salt SAUCE: 1 1/2 c. sugar 2/3 c. light corn syrup 1/3 c. water 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 2/3 c. evaporated milk Fill buttered 9-inch pie pan 2/3 full of apples. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Combine remaining ingredients in bowl and spoon over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden. SAUCE: Bring sugar, corn syrup, water and cinnamon to a boil over medium heat. Boil 4 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Stir in evaporated milk. Serve warm over pie. |
