GOOF BALLS 
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
14 oz. flaked coconut
2 c. chopped pecans, walnuts, or almonds
20 (1 oz.) sq. semi-sweetened chocolate (or 2 (8 oz.) Bakers)
1 tbsp. solid vegetable shortening

Work together by hand using a wooden spoon or by hand the following: milk, sugar, nuts, and coconut. Cover and chill 3 hours. Roll into balls (about 1 teaspoon of mixture for each ball.) Put balls on a baking sheet; cover and chill 8 hours or longer. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Melt shortening and chocolate. Drop balls, one at a time, into chocolate; place on wax paper. Refrigerate until chocolate hardens.
