OLD FASHIONED BOILED CUSTARD 
4 egg yolks or 2 whole eggs, beaten real well
1/3 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
1/2 tsp. almond
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix the eggs, sugar and salt. Gradually stir in the hot milk. Mix it well and set it over simmering water or use a heavy saucepan over low heat. Stir it consistently until the mixture coats the spoon thinly. Pour the mixture into a cold bowl right away. Add almond and vanilla flavorings and chill covered until ready to serve.
