HALF - WAY COOKIES | |
1 c. shortening 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 eggs, separated 1 tsp. water 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. sifted flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 pkg. (1 c.) chocolate chips 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. brown sugar Cream shortening, white and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add egg yolks, water and vanilla. Blend well, add dry ingredients sifted together 3 times. Makes a stiff dough. Pat on greased square pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over dough. Beat the 2 egg whites very stiff, gradually add the cup of brown sugar and spread on top. Bake at 350 degrees from 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut in squares. |
