EASY FRENCH ONION SOUP 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. sliced onions
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef broth
1/2 soup can water or wine
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste

Melt butter. Brown onions; add broth, water OR wine, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer at least 1 hour.

Serve with cheese and croutons.
