GREEK STYLE GREEN BEANS 
3/4 c. olive oil
2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. scallion greens
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 can stewed tomatoes or 2 fresh lg. tomatoes
1 tbsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. dill
4 drops hot sauce (opt.)
1 c. water
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. sugar
2 lbs. fresh green beans, washed & snapped in halves

1. In a 4 quart pot, cook on medium heat in oil, the onion, scallion and garlic until tender.

2. Continue cooking while you add the tomatoes, oregano, dill, sugar and water. Salt and pepper to taste.

3. Add green beans and stir well and bring to a boil.

4. Cover and cook at low heat until beans are tender, about 40 to 50 minutes. This dish can be prepared a day before serving.
