BAKLAVA 
1 lb. filo pastry sheets
1 lb. sweet butter
2 lbs. chopped walnuts mixed with 5 tbsp. sugar & 1 tbsp. cinnamon

Cut filo into 2" strips. Brush each strip with melted butter. Place heaping tablespoon of nut mixture on bottom of strip. Fold each side (about 3/4") to hold mixture, then roll strip of filo. Brush top with melted butter after rolled. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, with seam side down. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, about 15 minutes.

SYRUP:

1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. honey
1 1/2 c. water
1 cinnamon stick

Boil until liquid thickens, about 15 minutes. Dip each baked piece of baklava into syrup. Do not cover pieces to avoid sogginess. Yield: about 80 pieces.
