CRACKLING CORNBREAD | |
2 c. plain corn meal 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 c. bacon drippings 2/3 c. cracklings (soaked overnight in water) 1/2 c. buttermilk Mix all together, adding enough water to make bread consistency desired. Pour in muffin tins greased and lightly sprinkled with meal to about 1/2 full. Bake at 450 degrees for approximately 20-30 minutes or until brown. |
