1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream sugar and butter. Mix in egg and flavorings. Stir dry ingredients together. Chill 2 - 3 hours. Use half of the dough at a time. Roll out dough to 3/16 inch thickness. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Bake 7 - 8 minutes until golden brown.

ICING:

1 c. confectioners sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, salt, vanilla and enough water for desired consistency.
