SHIP WRECK STEW 
2 tbsp. melted shortening
3 c. sliced onion
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. uncooked rice
2 c. sliced celery
2 c. cooked beans (kidney or pinto)
1 c. tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. chili powder
(opt. add 1 1/4 c. water)
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Melt shortening in pan. Arrange layers in order given. Pour water over if used. Simmer slowly 2 hours or bake at 325 to 350 degrees for 2 hours or until done.
