CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
3 c. plain flour
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
2 sticks butter
1 1/4 c. sweet milk
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
2 tsp. salt

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add 1 egg at a time and beat well. Add milk. Sift flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder together 3 times. Add dry ingredients slowly beating well. Add vanilla, pour in greased tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

ICING:

2 c. sugar
2/3 c.buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 tsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla or almond flavoring

Mix well, boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Beat until cool. Spread on cake.
