BRAISED RIBS 
4 lb. beef short ribs in short lengths
2 med. onions, chopped
4 tsp. butter
2/3 c. barbecue sauce
4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 1/2 tbsp. vinegar
2 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar

Put the ribs in a 475 degree oven for 15 minutes. Drain off the fat and put the ribs into the crockery pot. Saute the onions in the butter in a small fry pan until the onions are golden brown. Add the barbecue sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and brown sugar. Mix well and cook over low heat for 2 minutes. Pour the sauce over the meat, cover and cook on the low setting (200 degrees) for 8 hours. Serves 4 to 5.
