MAW MA'S FRIED CHICKEN & GRAVY 
1 (3 lb.) chicken
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 can evaporated milk
1 c. Crisco
Salt
Pepper

Mix 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon salt and dash of pepper together. Take cut-up chicken and roll in flour. Melt Crisco in pan; place chicken in pan, cover with lid and cook on medium heat for 1 hour, turning chicken every 15 minutes.

Take chicken out when done. Pour 1/2 cup flour into pan and stir. Let it brown. Take milk and add 1 can water with it. Place chicken back in flour mixture that has browned in pan. Pour milk over chicken and stir when desired thickness is reached. Pour into bowl. Delicious.
