10 c. unsalted popcorn
1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar
Food coloring (if desired)

Cook sugar and water in heavy pan (not stainless steel) to 285 degrees on candy thermometer. (Add coloring at this time.) Pour over popcorn. Mix well and cool.
