CHERRY SNOWBALLS 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. water
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
2 (15 oz.) Jars maraschino cherries

Melt butter in a small saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/4 cup powdered sugar, water, and vanilla. Gradually stir in flour to make pastry like dough. Pinch off approximately 1 teaspoon of dough at a time and flatten in palm of hand to fit 1 cherry. Fold dough around the cherry and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool and roll into confectioners' sugar.
