MOLASSES BARS 
3/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. molasses
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Raisins

Mix shortening, molasses, brown sugar and egg until creamy. Add cinnamon, ginger, cloves, salt, flour and baking soda. Then add the raisins. Grease and flour a 13x9 pan. Flour gingers and pat mixture out in the pan. Brush top with water and sprinkle sugar on the top. Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes.
