BAVARIAN APPLE PIE 
CRUST:

1/2 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

TOP:

4 c. Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored & sliced
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. chopped pecans

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla; add flour; mix well. Press into bottom and sides of greased pie pan. Cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and egg. Spread over crust. Place apples in bowl with cinnamon and sugar. Coat. Arrange apples and put any remaining cinnamon and sugar on top. Sprinkle pecans. Bake in preheated 450 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce to 400 degrees for 25 minute. Let cool.
