COTTAGE CHEESE TURNOVERS | |
1/2 c. cottage cheese 1/2 c. shortening that is soft at room temp. 1 c. flour Cream shortening into cottage cheese. Slowly add flour and gently squeeze through the fingers to mix. Let stand a few minutes and shape into small balls with floured hands on well floured board. Press balls into thin circles with palm of hand. Place a teaspoon of jam (any flavor) in center of circle. Fold dough over and seal edges well with tines of fork. Prick on top, brush with milk and bake in 400 oven until golden brown. Makes 10 delicious turnovers. Recipe can be doubled or tripled. |
