CHOCOLATE CHIFFON PIE 
1 tbsp. (1 env.) unflavored gelatin
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix thoroughly in saucepan.

3/4 c. evaporated milk, undiluted
3/4 c. water
2 squares (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate

Add above ingredients. Stir over medium heat to dissolve gelatin and melt chocolate (do not boil). Blend with beater.

3 egg yolks, beaten

Stir part of hot mixture into yolks; blend well; return to hot mixture. Cook and stir 5 minutes longer. Cool 15 minutes.

3 egg whites
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat whites until foamy; add sugar. Beat to stiff peaks. Fold in chocolate mixture and vanilla.

Spoon into cooled, baked crust. Chill until firm. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired, dribble with mixture of 1/2 square unsweetened chocolate melted with 1 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup.
