CHOCOLATE CHIFFON PIE | |
1 tbsp. plain gelatin 1/4 c. water 1/2 c. boiling water 6 tbsp. cocoa or 2 squares chocolate 4 eggs 1 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cooked pie shell Soak gelatin in cold water 5 minutes. Mix cocoa or chocolate and boiling water until smooth. Add softened gelatin dissolving thoroughly. Add slightly beaten egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, and vanilla. Cool. When mixture begins to thicken, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and other 1/2 cup sugar. Fill pie shell. |
