CRANBERRY NUT BREAD 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
3/4 c. orange juice
1 tbsp. grated orange rind
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. cranberries, coarsely chopped

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt together; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Combine orange juice, rind and egg. Pour all at once into dry ingredients, mixing just enough to dampen. Fold in nuts and and cranberries carefully. Spoon into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for about 1 hour. Remove from pan; cool. Store overnight for easy slicing.
