2 tbsp. shortening
2 med. onions, thinly sliced
1/2 c. beef broth or water
3 c. browned beef cubes
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
3 tbsp. cheddar cheese
1/2 c. sour cream

Melt shortening in skillet. Add onions; saute until soft and clear. Add broth, beef, cheese and seasonings. Cover; simmer gently to heat. Just before serving, blend in sour cream.
