AMISH VANILLA PIE 
2 unbaked pie shells

LIQUID:

2 c. sugar
2 c. light molasses
8 tbsp. flour
2 eggs, beaten well
4 c. water
2 tsp. vanilla

CRUMBS:

2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. Crisco

Combine liquid ingredients in saucepan and bring to a full boil. Set aside to cool. Prepare crumb mixture. Pour half of cooked liquid mixture into each unbaked pie shell and top with crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Makes two 9 inch pies.
