2 pkgs. yeast 1 c. warm water 1 tbsp. sugar 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. shortening 2 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. salt 2 c. boiling water 2 eggs, well beaten 8 c. flour In small bowl combine first 3 ingredients; set aside. In a large mixing bowl combine next 4 ingredients, then add boiling water. Cool. Add yeast mixture. Add eggs. Add flour to make a stiff batter. Mix well. Cover; rise 3 hours. Knead down in bowl. Put in refrigerator overnight covered (8 hours will do it). Put on greased pan, shaped in size of golf ball. Cover, let rise in warm place 2 hours. Bake 350 degrees, 15-20 minutes. Check in 10 minutes. Butter tops. |
