OATMEAL DROP COOKIES 
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 1/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
6 tbsp. dark molasses

1 3/4 c. all-purpose white flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

2 c. uncooked oatmeal (quick-type)
1/2 c. cut up walnuts (or ground)
1 c. currants (or cut-up raisins)

Chill in refrigerator for 4 to 5 hours. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Drop batter by rounded teaspoonsful about 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned. Makes about 60 cookies, 2 1/2 inch size.
